aaaahhhh! 'tis sunday...
another sunday... tomorrow begins the move in on the new school. this should be interesting... :s
so, DC needs to get their heads outta their backsides! i just saying... i'm also just saying that why they make so much money for their jobs is BEYOND ME! seriously! that's why the country is in such bad shape, they get paid for sitting on their arses and argueing with one another all day! and kissing booty of people who want stuff and will give them money for passing stuff. it's just nuts!
also nuts is the weather this summer! if i didn't have to go back to work tomorrow, i would so be heading back to wyoming! it's like maybe 85F max up there, we've got the nasty 105F and up temps!
if you haven't read the book i've got posted on here, give it a look. i am aware it still needs work, but your imput would be welcomed. thanks!
so, i have a paper folding problem. it's probably an addiction... :) i always try to fold paper into those chinese shirken stars. even starburst wrappers! it's insane! i figured out how to fold the dollar bills to make 'em too, so i leave them as tips. it takes 2 to make one. i'll take pics and post.
reading latest bloody jack, jacky faber series book. the new one comes out in september. i'll get on the waiting list for it at the tulsa county library. i don't have the money or space to support my reading habit, so for $50 a year i get a tulsa county library card. we don't live, work, or go to school in tulsa county so i have to pay, but it's a bargain for the amount of books we check out.
saw part of the zardoz movie that sean connery was in back in 1974... interesting to say the least. the high point of that is sean in the red speedo and thigh high leather boots! couldn't take more than 30 minutes of it before i let the girls have the tv and i went to read a book. read the synopsis on imdb.com, read the reviews (roflmao), and decided that it wasn't for the girls to watch anyway. i agree that this movie was cooked up on an acid trip! what kind of dirt did they have on sean connery to make him star in this?! i'd really like to know... it must have been really bad!
ok, things to do. stay tuned...

oooohhhhh! i can post from my phone!!!!
just got one of those smartphone thingys... mom and dad got them, and i got the same one so i can help mom with it. she's just a bit technophobic...:s i'm on mom's plan. husband has his own plan with those nasty at&t people, the girls are with net10 and tracphone. i guess you can say we like to spread our cell phone dollars around.
so, lordy! what's going on?
well, we were driving on riverside (raceway) drive in tulsa, and of course there's construction. when isn't there construction in tulsa?! so the sign says "flagger ahead"... when did "flagman" morph to the idioic term "flagger"!? that's just like the stupidest thing i've EVER heard! are "freshmen" to be called "freshers" now!? i'm all for women's lib and wotnot... but really... this is just a bit much. there's some people who need to check the want ads for these things called "jobs". i know they can be far and few between at the moment, but still... go wait some tables or flip some burgers or wash some cars... but quit with the messing up of the american english language... it's messed up enough already!
OK BIG RANT THAT WILL PROBABLY PISS SOME PEOPLE OFF BUT I DON'T CARE, you've been warned, stop now if you are easily offended.
this has to do with learning the language of the country that you live in. IF you are going to move to a new country, AND try to work in a job where you have to deal with the public (ie, food service, etc.) WOULD YOU PLEASE BE FUNCTIONAL IN THE LANGUAGE?! if i get my fastfood order messed up one more time i may scream so loud you can hear me from space! it's not the people working the counter, it's the ones in the back who can't read the screen to get the order right. that poor girl at the sand springs walmart mcdonald's was having a heck of a time when we were in there the other day. IF i moved to another country and tried to get a job... they would expect me to already know the local language, BUT for some reason in this country, we're... too... tollerant, maybe. this is one of those things that you just can't be tollerant about, i'm sorry.
went up to wyoming to visit dad's parents and 2 younger brothers (and their families). rented a nice car from hertz, a toyota corolla, for 10 day for $335! i checked plane fare, just for kicks and giggles... $2000 for 4 round trip tickets! and that's before i pay for luggage and am TREATED LIKE A CRIMINAL just to get on the plane. add in $200 for 2 nights of hotel (half way stop is lexington, ne) and another $223 for gas and it's still cheaper than the plane. plus, we got to see rural america on the way there! we saw the fur traders museum in chadron, ne and carhenge in alliance, ne and mt. rushmore in south dakota. AND the center of the 48 states in lebanon, ks and the largest ball of sisal twine in cawker city, ks! it was just a fun family vacation! and just a bit cheesy... but that's part of the adventure. :)
in the hot season now, but it is summer... hello!?
oh and if you're looking to put in an in ground swimming pool in the sapulpa, ok area DO NOT USE BAKER CONSTRUCTION! they royally screwed up a pool for one of the houses mom cleans!
ok, done for the moment. stay tuned...

baby naming guidelines...
ok, there seem to be a rash of people spawning around me. either people i know or friends of friends. one of my daughter's teachers is having twins! so, here are the naming guidelines... follow them if you DON'T want your kids to hate you later in life... if you DO want them to hate you and have to spend money on court costs to change their name, then disregard the following info. :)
1) try to stay away from the top 20 popular names for at least the last 2 years. you have more of a chance of your child having to use their last initial on their name while in school if you don't. are you aware of how confusing this is? for everyone involved? not to mention that my 8th grader knows 3 taylor's, 2 are girls, one is a boy... can you imagine this in elementary school?
2) use the correct spelling!!!!! for god's sake, "jackson" is not spelled "jaxyn"! "nikki" is not spelled "nique"! and for another thing, name her nicole... nikki is a striper name! just ask prince... lol!
3) if you are, in fact, having twins... DO NOT GIVE THEM RHYMING NAMES OR NAMES THAT START WITH THE SAME LETTER!!!!!! i spent my school years with the following twins: dena and gena, patrick and phillip, danette and danelle (that one is just another form of the other). my daughter goes to school with stephen and stephon (i'm not joking, they aren't even identical)! they are different people, be kind. it may seem cute when they are babies... but surprise... they TURN INTO ADULTS!
4) please pay attention to your last name, and what initials spell. we've got a guy in town with the name of richard head... and i know someone who had a teacher with the name of sharon acock... she changed her first name. i would have changed the whole thing. my cousin named her daughter so that her initials are AAA. i've heard of worse... i guess...
5)please remember that you are naming a future adult! this isn't something trivial here! I'M SERIOUS! names like the following are just cruel and unusual punishment: whisper, wolfe, candy, sugar, cherry, dreamer, sunshine, chasity (she will spend high school proving this wrong), timber (her last name is camp!), etc. do not pick baby names while under the influence of the drugs they give you in the hospital! we had our girls names picked out by the time i was 4 months pregnant... but i like being ahead on these things. that's just me... :)
stay tuned...

oklahoma blizzard... without the nerds candy mixed in!
the dairy queen blizzard with nerds mixed in is one of my favorites... then they quit having it! RUDE! something about the candy company not selling the nerds in bulk... RUDE! now if i want it i gotta take an unopened box of nerds to braum's and they'll mix it in for me.
SO! we have a blizzard of another type going on outside at the moment... the nasty, you're not going anywhere for a couple of days kind. maybe up north they're equiped to handle this stuff... we're NOT! i layed in enough supplies for about a week, but we should be able to get out on saturday, maybe. at least it's not like that nasty ice storm where we lost power for a week...
schools are closed, DUH. maybe the state can forgive a couple of these days we're out so we don't use up all the snow days. that would be nice. we'll see.
the a/c heater combo unit we use to heat and cool our bedroom is frozen. we'll have to pull it out of the case and into the bedroom in a bit to un freeze it and put something over the top outside so it'll work again. had the down comforter on the bed last night, it's probably 45 F in there. it's 60 in the rest of the house, so we're good. it's like 10 outside with a wind chill of -1 or something nasty like that.
ok, on to find something to eat for breakfast.
stay tuned...

i love my job...
and it's not just because i get all the school holidays off work. it's because i love books, and reading, and libraries... i could spend the whole day in the tulsa central library just browsing the stacks... yeah... good times!
on vacation now, back to work on january 4th. let me tell you, those kids really need this time away from school! they were bouncing off the walls yesterday!
so, read a book. it's called "the road", saw the movie on showtime... very visual... you don't listen to the movie so much as you absorb it with your eyes. the book was the same way... very odd... no chapter divisions. you don't listen to the book either, you are visually involved with it. i'm thinking that the author was physically drained after writing it, i know i was drained from reading it. i won't need to read this book again, it will stick with me... like "the lovely bones"... that sticks with you too. still haven't seen the movie... i will at some point.
the new elementary school is so cool! they let us tour it on wednesday. it's very odd... there are these things on the walls, on every wall in each room, i think they are "electrical outlets"? and there's this other thing called "storage"... these are foreign to those of us who work at washington or woodlawn. we're not sure what they are... but we are sure to love them very much. right now we're lucky to have maybe 2 outlets per room, that's 4 plugins. and storage... good lord! our buildings look like paddy's market most of the time since we have no where to put anything. we get to move in over summer... yea!
trying to ignore the annoying holiday madness around me... but it's getting harder.
ok, things to do.... stay tuned...
